  CHILDREN'S MINISTRIES

MESSAGE TO PARENTS

It’s a tremendous privilege for our ministry team to teach, mentor, care, and encourage your child/ren each week.  As always, it is our vision to see children experience a loving relationship with the one true God. We desire to help them grow in God’s grace through His Word and Spirit and to see them experience the joy of glorifying God.

Your child is of the utmost importance to us. We believe children are a gift from God (Psalm 127:3) and they are greatly loved and valued by each member of the Next Generation Ministry team.  We are committed to partnering with you , the parents, in teaching Scripture, enabling them to make choices that both honor God personally and reflect His compassion for this world.

Sunday Morning Activities

Infant / Toddlers, Rm 103

Sunday School — 9:15 - 10:15am
Worship Hour — 10:30 - end of service

First hour Lead Teachers: Mrs. Suzanne Waite and Ms. Pat Bennett
You can enjoy the adult Sunday school classes and the worship service knowing that your child is being loved and cared for by a loving staff.  All children are signed in and picked up by a parent or guardian to insure your child is safe and secure.

Dedicated, trained adults and teen helpers care, play, giggle, and enjoy spending the hour with your little one.  Our volunteers desire to give your child the same special love and care that you give at home. These small members of our church family are very precious to us, as they are to Christ, and we want this worship time to be safe, warm, and secure.

Preschool / Kindergarten, Rm 104

Sunday School — 9:15 - 10:15 am
Worship Hour — 10:25 - end of service

First hour Lead Teacher: Mrs. Linda Schuetz along with an assistant will be leading these little ones through exciting stories, crafts, verses, and activities as they gather each week to discover God.
During the worship hour, a rotation of dedicated, trained adults share a Bible story and activity for children ages toddler through Kindergarten.  Children have a time to hear a biblical story in a language, style, and pace prepared for them tocomplete a craft or activity that relates to the story.  As a parent, feel free to go and worship knowing your child is being cared for and taught in a caring environment.

1st - 3rd grade, Third floor enclosed classroom — Sundays 9:15 - 10:15 am
Lead Teacher: Mrs. Leigh Ward along with Kathy Jensen
Our program for elementary school children is 252 Basics curriculum (www.252basics.org) that focus children to make wise choices, develop a faith that places their trust in God, and truly care for friends and others. Through hands on activities reinforcing the Bible story and themes, children grow together through the direction of these caring adults.

4th - 5th grade, Third Floor South Room — Sundays 9:15 - 10:15 am
Lead Teacher: Jim Schuetz
The older elementary students are also using the 252 Basics curriculum (www.252basics.org)   Jim takes older elementary children and gets them talking.  For their development, the approach in this class is for more discussions and thought provoking questions.  As children grow and mature, this class begins the preparation for the coming “tween” years.

6th - 12th Grade, Teen Center — Sundays 9:15 - 10:15 am
Lead Teachers: Greg and Carol Lozano are new to our teaching team
We are excited to have them teaching spiritual habits to students.  This fall, they will challenge students to living a spiritually disciplined life through traditional spiritual disciplines like worship, solitude, prayer, fasting, service, study and others.  There is a soul hunger in students today to be challenged spiritually; a challenge to go deeper with God. To experience a spiritual life that is honest and real without the candy coating.

KIDZ POWER HOUR, Grades 1st - 5th, third floor of our educational building

Sundays 10:30 am - end of worship service

Each week the children experience a variety of activities including skits, crafts, music, games, prayer and missions. All of the elements of our program combine to create loving Disciples of Christ.
Our prayer for the children can be found in Colossians 1:9-12

“For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you and asking God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding.  And we pray this in order that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, and joyfully giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of light."
