Women: July 8 7:00 PM Eating Healthy Everyday
All the messages in the media about nutrition can be confusing. Does oatmeal really lower cholesterol? What is trans fat? Does “made with whole grain” mean a food is nutritious? Is high fructose corn syrup really bad for your health? If you want to incorporate healthier eating into your lifestyle, but you think “healthy food” means it tastes like cardboard, come join us for an evening of Nutrition 101. You’ll learn what to look for and what to avoid in your foods, how to decipher a nutrition label, & enjoy some delicious food & the company of women just like you. We’ll share recipes & some tips on making healthier choices without sacrificing flavor or starting a war with your kids. Bring a friend to share this great evening! Presented by Susan Landers, who holds a Masters Degree in Health Promotion & currently works as the CPR/Fitness Developer for Waubonsee Community College and as an Adjunct Faculty member for the Social Science & Education Department teaching Personal Wellness.
